Metropolitan Restaurant at 1352 W.6th St., in the Warehouse District has transformed into a chic bar/restaurant aptly named Metro Bar+Kitchen. CEI Awning has done its part by replacing the awnings originally used for Piccolo Mondo back in 1991 with new storefront awnings, a eye-popping red entrance awning, and 2 large retractable awnings over the patio area. The retractable awnings provide an outdoor dining experience with a view of the city’s tallest buildings and the always fun pastime of people-watching. Sleek and classic lines revive this landmark building into a hip and trendy nightspot.
CEI Awning was thrilled to again participate in a project with Hyde Park Restaurant Group (www.hydeparkrestaurants.com) and Design Collective (www.dcollective.com) to complete the stunning red and black update to the exterior.
The entrance awning features a bright red canopy resting on an oversized black aluminum frame complete with arches to accent the opening and protecting patrons from rain and snow. At the front of this canopy identifies the place with a cool red and white illuminated Metro sign done by Sign-Lite.
The street side patio offers shade with 20′ x 13′ retractable awnings that can be rolled out at quickly to create a romantic setting. If you choose to be out in the sun, the St. Clair Side patio offers an open dining experience.
Awnings enhance a unique space providing a balance of function and design. Awnings are a simple way to renew your space by providing a three dimensional welcome to customers and potential customers.
